Japanese - German Workshop "Single-Molecule Science and Technology", Dec 11-15, 2017

Time
11. - 15. December 2017

Location
University of Konstanz, Conference hall V 1001

Organizer
Yoshihiro Asai, Masateru Taniguchi and Elke Scheer

Speaker:

The workshop is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and is meant to foster collaboration between scientists of our two countries working in the field of Molecular Electronics with emphasis on single-molecule devices or single molecule properties.
In addition to the colleagues from Japan and Germany three worldwide renowned experts of the field, covering scientific and technological aspects, are invited.

The participation is on invitation only.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

Single-Molecule Science

  •  Fabrication of single-molecule junctions
  •  Electrical properties of single-molecule junctions
  •  Thermal properties of single-molecule junctions
  • Magnetic properties of single-molecule junctions
  • Phonon scattering in single-molecule junction
  • Theory of single-molecule junctions

Single-Molecule Technology

  • Sensing single molecules
  • Manipulation of single molecules
  • Control of electrical, thermal, and magnetic properties in single-molecule junctions
  • Fabrication processes for developing molecular devices
  •  Operational principles of molecular devices
