1st Tina Ulmer-Lehrpreis for Prof. Dr. Elke Scheer

On Friday 16th of November 2012 Prof. Dr. Elke Scheer has been awarded with the first Tina Ulmer-Lehrpreis (Tina Ulmer Prize for Teaching) for her innovative course  "Molecular Electronics: An Introduction to Theory and Experiment".

This course was given with Prof. Dr. Carlos Cuevas from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (E) during the winter semester 2011-2012 at the University of Konstanz and the Helmholtz-Forschungszentrum Dresden-Rossendorf.

SFB 767 "Controlled Nanosystems" extended until 2015

The German Research Foundation has granted the extension of the Collaborative Research Center 767 “Controlled Nanosystems: Interaction and Interfacing to the Macroscale” from 2012 to 2015 with a total funding of 7.3 million euros.

In collaboration with the Department of Chemistry and the Max-Planck-Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart one of the central branches of research of the Department of Physics with outstanding results throughout the last four years will be continued.

ERC advanced grant for SFB 767 principal investigator

Ultra-short time scales form the field of work of Prof. Dr. Alfred Leitenstorfer. They are so short that they no longer can be detected with electronic time sensors, but only with optical devices – with lasers. The professor of experimental physics and director of the Centre for Applied Photonics (CAP) at the University of Konstanz was awarded the Advanced Grant of the European Research Council (ERC). This is the most highly endowed research prize at the European level.
